Join us in Doncaster as we show our support for the people who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
There will be a city centre parade commencing from 11am at Duke Street followed by a fabulous event for all the family at Elmfield Park until 5pm.
Once again the City of Doncaster Armed Forces Day parade will be supported by South Yorkshire Police Mounted Department with two Police horses joining the parade.
Parade participants will include representation from our combined Armed Forces Communities including Veterans and Cadet units and the Corps’ of Drums marching contingents.
We are also very pleased to share that the City of Doncaster Armed Forces Day parade will be supported by First Bus Group with the inclusion of the Poppy Bus which will provide transport for some of our Armed Forces Veterans for whom the Parade is a little too far to march, this gives those individuals the opportunity to still be part of the Parade.
There will be a number of WW2 Military vehicles participating in the Parade and exhibiting at the following event in Elmfield Park
Pipers from the Doncaster & District Pipe Band will also be marching in the parade and performing later at the event in the park, the Doncaster Pipers will also be joined by two Pipers from Dunfermline Scotland who are making the trip especially for this event.
Other entertainment includes Doncaster’s favourite musical family The Bowkers who will be performing in Elmfield Park after the Parade has been formally dismissed, there will also be exhibitions and interactive activities, fairground rides, food and drinks concessions.
